The Wedding – Yes to the dress!

They say the perfect wedding dress is a feeling… and mine? Oh, it was everything.

I got so many compliments on my dress, and honestly… choosing it was a total shock. It was NOTHING like what I had pinned on my Pinterest board. I wanted flamenco vibes, maybe some lace, different textures… basically a Pinterest dream. But life had other plans.

Here’s the thing: there are lots of things I happily buy online, but a wedding dress? Nope. That needed to be tried on, felt, lived in for a moment.

My mom was visiting San Diego, and before she flew back to Mexico, I dragged her along:
“Come with me to try on dresses. Even if I don’t buy it yet, we HAVE to look.”

We went to Brides of San Diego, and first… wow. The service was amazing. The salesperson and the seamstress who made my alterations? Absolute angels.

First dress I tried: Bridgerton collection. Lace everywhere. Gorgeous. But on me… nope. It was beautiful, but just didn’t fit my body story. Tried a few more lace ones… nothing.

Then… I tried on my dress. Designer: Demetrios. It was on sale (score!). The fabric? Sparkly but delicate. And the moment I stood in front of the mirror… BAM. It was IT.

I won’t lie. I had a little doubt at first. It wasn’t even close to what I had imagined. But then… I fell in love. Hard. I turned to my mom—tears. No more questions. YES TO THE DRESS!

It was a little big in the bust, but I didn’t care. Bought it on the spot. Ran home to tell Dev: “I have my dress!” He looked at me like I was crazy. “I thought that took months,” he said. Nope. Instant love.

And now? Photos. 😍

But here’s the twist. What do you do with a dress this beautiful after your wedding? Call me crazy, but I’m turning it into a Corpse Bride costume for Halloween. Keeping it in a box for decades? No way. That’s not the kind of honor this sparkle deserves.

Thank you, Brides of San Diego, and Angela Rodriguez @absor_ver for making these photos magic. 📷
